SBN Industries Sdn Bhd is incorporated since 1981 and accredited with MS ISO 9001 from SIRIM QAS International since 1993.

In 1981, SBN was appointed sole agent for Atlas Bolt Ltd. of U.K. for its full range of High Tensile Bolts and Helicoil inserts and Inserting Tools. We began marketing fluorocarbon (PTFE) coated bolts & nuts to oil companies and offshore installations in 1984.

Due to delays in deliveries, with assistance from our Principals in the U.K., we set up facilities to produce fluorocarbon coated bolts & nuts under the MASTERCOTE brand.  This is the only product of its kind in the market to come through a staggering 5,500 hours of salt-fog spray test with only 0.03% of rust spots (by area). The test report is available on request.

A separate set of specimens was Salt Spray Tested "Under Stress" to 3,000 hours. "Under Stress" a set of 4 bolts and nuts was tightened to a pair of plastic flanges to the required torque before they were put into the salt spray booth to be tested to to ASTM B117/1990 sepecifications ~ all of these tests were performed by SISIR Singapore.

Result of these Tests show : ~ Two bolts with 1% to 3% rust by area and the other remaining absolutely clean without a spot of stain. The report is available on request.

We also provide TW Lench structural bolts & nuts, Ovako's alloy steel studding, M*RAK channels and concrete inserts which enables us to service local and regional customers more efficiently.

In 1990, we signed a confidentiality Agreement with Warwick Finspa Ltd. of the U.K. to manufacture Monostrut Cable Ladders in Malaysia. Monostrut is a registered Trade Mark which originated from Brockhouse Ltd., U.K. more than 30 years ago. The company was acquired and underwent a name change during the last decade.

We developed M*RAK in 1993. It has been designed for a quality conscious market for supporting cables in the Oil, Gas, Power and Building industries.

Materials available are in Stainless 304, 316S11, 316S13, powder coating and Hot Dip Galvanized steel, complete with matching M*RAK channels, concrete inserts, cantilever arms and brackets.

In 1994, we signed a license agreement to manufacture DIMET brand Cathodic Protection products. Subsequently in 1996, we obtained all marketing activities as well as the whole business of Cathodic Protection from Wattyl-Dimet.

We found synergistic growth in combining our different divisions in the same market of oil, gas, marine and shipping industries. We are also encouraged by the recognition and support from local and foreign oil companies and fabricating yards for our quality awareness.

In future, we will further expand our horizons to develop other related businesses in order to service our customers more efficiently.
